Islamic Studies

The Library has recently subscribed to two new resources which support research and teaching in Islamic Studies. Index Islamicus Online contains over 400,000 records, providing coverage for books and journals written about the history, beliefs, societies, cultures, and languages and literatures of the Muslim areas of Asia and Africa, as well as Muslims living elsewhere. Journals and books are indexed down to the article and chapter level.

Oxford Islamic Studies Online  is an authoritative and dynamic resource which brings together the best current scholarship in the field to foster a more accurate and informed understanding of the Islamic world. This resource  features reference content and commentary by renowned scholars in areas such as global Islamic history, concepts, people, practices, politics, and culture, and is regularly updated with new content. Oxford Islamic Studies Online offers over 5,000 A–Z reference entries, chapters from scholarly and introductory works, Qur'anic materials, primary sources, images, maps, and timelines.
