The Guelph Spring Festival was sponsored by the Edward Johnson Music Foundation and founded in 1968. It occurs every year in April and May for four weeks and features national and international talent performing in concerts and operas. It has grown significantly since its beginnings, from a small six presentation festival to one of much larger scale. This festival is still in operation to this day.
