U of G researchers now have access to SciFree, a tool that provides researchers with a way to find journals where they can publish with article processing charges (APCs) discounted or waived entirely. If you’re interested in open access publishing opportunities, this tool will help you find journals to publish in at a discounted, or zero cost. “The library has invested significantly in Read & Publish agreements, but authors often struggle to sort out if our open access discounts apply to their journal of choice. SciFree addresses this gap, making our discounting structures more transparent and accessible for U of G authors,” said Meg Ecclestone, acting head, Collections & Content.
How it works
- SciFree is a searchable platform that offers researchers insight into which journals they can publish and have APCs waived or discounted.
- Search results highlight journal title, imprint, who pays, and license options, and publishing model.
