The Atrium Share Your Paper

U of G’s open access repository, the Atrium, now features a new tool called Share Your Paper. The hope? To provide U of G researchers with an easy way to deposit an open access copy of their work.

“Share Your Paper gives researchers a really easy, and free, way to deposit an open access copy of their work. This means that they can meet their funder open access requirements and increase the visibility of their research in about 30 seconds,” said Jordan Pedersen, research & scholarship librarian.

What people are saying

  • “Share Your Paper is a fantastic tool to help increase open access to research (and without the large open access fees!). The tool is straightforward to use and quickly does all the hard work for me, providing clear descriptions of what is allowed in terms of publicly posting our manuscripts so that they are widely accessible without paywalls. Highly recommend!” -- Dr. Andria Jones, professor, Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College.
  • “I heard about the new Share Your Paper process from the library and, as I have committed to having all of my publications open access, was very interested. I hadn't updated my Atrium submissions in several years, so I was behind on this commitment. I tried the tool and was thrilled with it! I was able to enter all of my publications in less than an hour! No more checking the publisher details about embargo periods, waiting until the time had passed, entering every individual detail for each paper. Instead, I just had to paste in the digital object identifier and the system checked and provided the information for the timing and entered the details! It will even hold the papers that have not yet had their embargo periods pass and release them when the time comes! I had a couple questions that were quickly answered by a U of G librarian, but it was so simple to use. Honestly, I strongly recommend using Share Your Paper if you're committed to open access!” -- Tricia van Rhijn, professor and department chair, Family Relations & Applied Nutrition
