The McLaughlin Library’s Archival & Special Collections is home to a diverse group of material representing the colourful history of the Sleeman Family. The collection contains historical family photographs, correspondence, business records, newspapers, and promotional materials that highlights over 150 years of Sleeman history, ranging from the time John H. Sleeman arrived in Upper Canada to the present day renaissance of the family's brewing industry. The collection highlights the significant influence the Sleeman family had on the Canadian brewing industry and the advancement of Guelph's politics, industry and infrastructure.
