Florian Sleeman

Florian Sleeman was the oldest of George A. Sleeman’s four children. She was born in Guelph but eventually went to live in Ottawa after her father was appointed as a sales agent for the region. Later in life she became a mother and worked for the federal government. She is described as being incredibly proud of and vocal about the family’s history. Although she was never directly involved in the family’s brewing business, she would play one of the most pivotal roles in the rebirth of the company. It was Florian who held on to George A. Sleeman’s recipe book and would pass it on to her nephew John W. Sleeman.
